Obituary for Louis P. Michael

Louis Paul Michael, of Center Township, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on June 12th, 2018. Born March 12, 1925 in Aliquippa he was the son of the late Shaben and Jenny Michael, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Michael, Steve Michael, and two sisters Katherine Unis and Emily Michael. He graduated with honors from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics as a Master Mechanic in 1944. He was a Sergeant in the Air Force during World War II and served as an airplane mechanic and was later promoted to Chief Inspector. Following the War, he went to electronics school in Pittsburgh and learned to fix televisions and radios. For most of his career, Louis and his brothers owned and operated Michaels Furniture and Appliances on Franklin Ave. in Aliquippa. He was a long time member of the Rotary International, a member of the Lebanese Club and St. Francis Cabrini Church.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Donna (Dyche) Michael, and his children JoEllen Michael, Karen Michael and husband Morad Boroomand, Louis Michael, Theresa Kaul and husband Dr. Ramesh Kaul and beloved grandchildren Alexander Kaul and Abraham Kaul. Also surviving are his sister Rita Unis, sisters-in-law Alice Michael, Julia Michael, Jeanette (August) Tuffie, and brother-in-law John (Patty) Shriner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis Michael was a man of many talents, he was a businessman, an expert in electronics and very knowledgeable about the latest technology. He loved music and along with his brother Steve was a DJ while in Aliquippa High School. He was an excellent artist and painted portraits of his parents. He had a creative approach to everything he did. He was known as the “fix-it” man, and would fix whatever was broken. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. His family meant everything to him and he always put his family’s needs first. He also had a huge impact on many people in the community and will be greatly missed. We wish to thank his physician and son-in-law Dr. Ramesh Kaul who provided loving medical care.

Friends will be received Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., CENTER TOWNSHIP, 3475 Brodhead Road, Monaca, Pa. 15061.
Family and friends will meet Saturday at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Center Twp., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30am, with Fr. Marin Bartel officiating.
Interment will follow at 11am in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Twp., where the Beaver County Special Unit will conduct military honors.
A parish vigil service will be held Friday at 2:45pm in the funeral home.
